havGamePatcher
havGamePatcher is a Windows application for applying compatibility patches to classic PC games. It's developed in C++23, x86 assembly and wxWidgets. It recognizes supported executables, shows the available fixes, and creates patched copies while preserving the original files.
Features
- Automatic detection of supported games and executable versions
- Per-game patch options and detection of patches already applied
- File selection through Browse or drag and drop onto the window, application or shortcut
- Patched copies saved alongside the originals with
.patchedadded to the filename - Confirmation before replacing an existing patched copy
Supported games
- Fury³ (English retail edition): Joystick compatibility is applied by default. The optional experimental fullscreen patch adds borderless fullscreen that fills the monitor, scales cutscenes to the window in both modes, and restores the previous window size when leaving fullscreen
- Hellbender (English, French and German retail editions): Joystick compatibility is applied by default. The optional experimental fullscreen patch includes corrections for hardware-rendered textures, shading, sky, weapon and radar graphics, while keeping the original F4 cycle between windowed, hardware fullscreen and software fullscreen modes
Trial and demo editions are not supported. Fullscreen patches require the supported original executable and are unchecked by default. Results can vary with graphics drivers and display configurations.
How to use
Extract the download and run havGamePatcher.exe. Close the game, select its original executable, choose the optional fixes you want, and click Create patched copy. Run the new .patched executable from the game folder. Keep the original file for future patch updates.
The download is a portable Windows x64 application. You need 64-bit Windows and an installed copy of a supported retail game. Game files are not included.
